Preventive Maintenance That Actually Prevents Downtime

An unscheduled roadside repair costs several times what the same repair costs in the shop — and that is before the missed load, the late fee and the driver sitting idle. A consistent PM program is the difference. Oil and filters on interval, fluids topped and checked, brakes measured, tires inspected and the chassis greased catches the vast majority of failures while the truck is still parked on our floor instead of on the shoulder.

What a PM Visit Covers

  • Engine oil and filter — drain and fill to the correct grade and capacity
  • Fuel, air and coolant filters — replaced on interval, not just when they fail
  • Fluid levels and condition — coolant, transmission, differential, power steering
  • Brake check — lining thickness, drums, pushrod stroke and slack adjusters
  • Tire check — tread depth, pressures, irregular wear and sidewall condition
  • Chassis lube — fifth wheel, king pins, S-cam bushings and suspension points
  • Lighting and air system — lamps, connections and leak-down check

Catching Problems While They Are Still Cheap

A PM visit is also the best diagnostic opportunity you get. Irregular tire wear points at alignment. A slow air loss points at a fitting that will strand you later. Coolant disappearing without an external leak points at something you want to know about now, not in Arkansas. When a PM turns something up, we can fix it here: diesel engine repair, heavy duty semi truck repair, trailer repair and tires all happen under one roof.

Fleets and Owner-Operators

Running more than one truck? We set up recurring PM schedules with service records kept per unit, so you know what was done and when each truck is next due. Running one truck? Same service, no fleet contract required — call and book the unit in.

We are at Exit 87 on I-30 in Caddo Mills, TX, convenient to Greenville, Royse City, Terrell, Rockwall and the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

PM Service & Oil Change Questions

How often should a semi truck get an oil change?

It depends on the engine, the oil and how the truck runs, so follow your manufacturer's interval rather than a rule of thumb. Long-haul trucks on highway miles generally stretch further than trucks doing stop-and-go or heavy-idle work. Call (800) 721-6177 with your make, engine and typical run and we will tell you where your interval should sit.

Do I need to be a fleet to set up a PM schedule?

No. Owner-operators get the same scheduled maintenance and the same per-unit records as multi-truck fleets, with no contract required.

How long does a PM service take?

A routine oil change and PM inspection is usually a couple of hours. If the inspection turns up something that needs repair, we will show you what we found and quote the additional time before doing the work.

Can you service the trailer at the same time?

Yes. Trailer brakes, lights, air system, landing gear and tires can be serviced in the same visit as the tractor, so you get one block of downtime instead of two.

What if the PM turns up a problem?

We show you what we found and what it takes to fix it. Because we are a full truck and trailer shop, most repairs can be completed here rather than sending you to a second facility.
